Whitby Meadows is Whitby's northwest growth front, around Coronation Road between Taunton Road West and Rossland Road West, and it is still under construction and still selling. Ten communities from five builders have been released across the master-planned area, with dozens of floor plans covering single-family and townhouse product. One builder's Phase 4 at Coronation and Taunton West advertises detached designs on 36 and 40 foot frontages, while earlier releases in the same project offered two-car garage freehold towns, semis and detached homes on 30, 36 and 42 foot frontages.

Two things follow from that, and both are worth knowing before anyone books outside work. First, a builder-installed door or operator on a recent closing may still be covered by builder or Tarion warranty, so the closing paperwork is the first place to look when something fails early. Second, a two-car garage on a 30 or 36 foot frontage is a specific engineering situation: the door is wide relative to the wall it sits in, side room is minimal, and the header carries a long span. Those are the conditions under which reinforcement and correct spring sizing stop being optional.
